Stall operator Jagdish Sahu told Local 18 that he is originally from Patna. Came to Gumla in 1980 in search of employment. Started setting up Dahi-Badi and Dahi-Bundiya stalls here. People tasted it for more than 20 years. Then in 2023, changing the business idea, he started making and selling Litti, the famous flavor of Bihar. Got good response from people. The people here are liking it a lot. Special care is taken of purity here.

To make Litti, Dalda wax is used in flour along with water. The mixture is prepared by adding ginger, garlic, goli, celery, mangreyla, coriander, lemon, mustard oil, salt etc. to Sattu and kneading it lightly. Then the dough ball is filled with Sattu mixture and cooked on low flame of coal. Which people can eat hot.
Along with Litti, special chokha of potatoes and special chutney of tomato, brinjal and garlic are served to the people. Onion, radish and fried green chillies etc. are also given on top. People come from far and wide to taste it. He said, if we talk about the rates, then plain litti is available for Rs 20 a pair and ghee one is available for Rs 40 a pair. The shop is open from 10 am to 5 pm.
